What?
But seriously;
General Deconstruction
Technical details:
Girl is grotesquely light straight from above. No apparent side light... This creates a very dramatic effect on the person being photographed and puts emphasis on the person who is notably front, centre and in clear focus. Also the degree of lighting is fair but also that of a standard light bulb. The brown de-saturation adds a lovely rich coffee feel but also tends to be used when a photographs colour is wrong or need to be discarded, (The choice between monochrome colour or black-and-white usually ends with a happy medium.)
The girls hair is styled in such a manner it looks like it cascades onto the pillow this indicates who likes to leave a lasting impression… the expressionless face as attractive as it is
There is no distortion and no blur which means there is a clear defined message conveyed.
We are looking downwards towards her… however the main features are the chest and face and hair leading to the pillow… leaving the rest to be overlooked. Although evidently compensated for by a border and some vector art and destruction to the top right.… I think that subtracts from the simplicity of the picture which has its own merits…
Very organic with a great contrast for shadows… despite the direct approach with a coffee texture to it… wouldn’t mind laying on that bed looks comfy…
The connotations of the picture…
There is no apparent expression on the face (excluding the twinge of a smile on the left) which conveys a somewhat melancholy attitude or helplessness. Perhaps waiting… But no furrowing of the brow takes away any connotations of thought… but that’s just my point of view others may disagree…
The attire is provocative yet reveals very little, which is also shown with the facial expression. Could she have something to hide perhaps? Or maybe she can’t show it.
The colour of the picture is a cool brown which detracts from the picture in one way as there is very little colour for your eyes to go to however this either purposefully or inadvertently adds to the emotionless face, despite that the contrast makes up for it.
The overall feel of the picture can be summarized as a sort of neutrality which could be seen as a melancholy emotion.
End final result an imressive
